Is 500 pesos enough for vacation to boracay?

April 28, 2009 - Posted in boracay vacation

hopefully including transpo (ferry to bora, plane to manila), food, gimik at night, accomodations (they say there are 1k rooms in bora. all this for 3 days 2 nights.
what i meant was 5000 pesos!

if you travel using the RORO, you could save a lot and go there during the off peak months. not during summer as the rates are really high at this time.

you might not be able to bring home some souvenirs but if your goal is to simply visit boracay then yes, that would suffice.

  4. No. The airfare alone from MNL is a 2000-4000 PHP one way. Remember that everything is expensive there because the island's price structure is geared towards westerners.

  5. the exchange rate is about 55 pesos to one u.s. dollar. Boracay is a resort island with white sand beaches and high end living. Even restaurants are expensive. Your body will not tolerate most local food there or anywhere in the philippines.

  11. I don't think so. Unless you don't eat or drink or go anywhere else just stay in your room. Save up some more money if you want to have a good time.

  12. No, especially that it's already summertime. The peak season has started. Prices are going up back there for sure.

  13. Its possible if you will take the roro tranportaion then take the risk of looking budgeted room or resort in Boracay. And its possible during low season from mid June to October.

  15. You sound like you're talking in dollars! 500 pesos is a meal for a small family at an average restaurant.

  17. No, its not. BUT BORE-acay is one of the cr*ppiest destinations in the Philippines anyway. There are beautiful places in Busuanga. If you take the Superferry from Manila, you can get away with one hotel night and still spend two full days there and be close (although still a bit more) to that budget.

Besides Busuanga, there are many other places in the Philippines that are way better than BORE-acay. Panglao, Dumaguete, Sipalay, the list is endless ….

  20. 500 pesos is never enough .. you will need 4000 or more just to get to boracay island.. and it would be boring to just look other sleep at boracay hotels or eat at restaurants ..
