Answerer above gave good places to go.

The principal attraction of Cebu is the lifestyle and the atmosphere.

Cebu City, Crowned the Queen City of the South, The country's oldest city. Cebu is necessarily the place where relics of the past are a-plenty. Colon Street, for instance, has the distinction of being the oldest street in the Philippines. Paved late in the 16th century by Miguel Lopez de Legaspi. Colon now houses malls, office buildings, theaters as well museums and monuments. Other place of historical importance include Fort San Pedro, the oldest fortress in the country, Liloan Lighthouse, and the Bantayan sa Hari..

TOPS – The Top on Busay Hills affords panoramic views of Metro Cebu, Mactan and Olango. Ideal for picnics. Tops is a viewing platform in Busay, above the city. There are a couple of restaurants in the local area with beautiful views as well.

Kawasan Falls in Moalboal, the site of cascades and lush greenery, is another, favorite picnic spot.

Sudlon National Park in Cebu City sprawls on 696 hectares of wood offering picnic grounds and swimming pools.

The Butterfly Sanctuary. This used to be the home of Cebuano lepidopterist Julian Jumalon, who must have been quite an amazing character until he passed away. There are three reasons you should visit the Butterfly Sanctuary. First, you can see the plants that butterflies like, and live butterflies fluttering about. The live butterflies themselves are not that stunning, but finding about their habits from the guide is rather interesting. Second, Professor Jumalon amassed a vast collection of butterflies from all over the world, by trading native Cebuano butterflies for African, Papuan and other butterflies. Third, he used the wings of dead butterflies to make mosaics These look like fairly accomplished paintings, at first glance, but they are actually far more than that; the wings change color according to the light. The mosaics are delicate; photography is strictly prohibited in the museum exhibiting Professor Jumalon's works.

Crocolandia, is a crocodile park aimed primarily at locals. In addition to crocodiles, they have a wide range of wild animals in captivity, including an ostrich and a tarsier.

Magellan's Cross, on Borromeo street, right across City Hall is another site you may want to visit. The great Portuguese seafarer and conquistador brought Christianity to Cebu, and planted a cross. This cross is – get this – represented by a replica which is further encased in wood, which is available for public viewing inside a purpose built hut. This is because devout believers would often make off with bits off the cross, valued as relics. The cross is important because of the symbolism. Magellan's Cross marks the incursion of Christianity into Asia, and symbolizes the advent of Western religion and principles on these islands. Magellan's Cross is a worthy destination not because the cross looks particularly interesting – it doesn't – but because it is the marker of an event which heralded the formation of the only Catholic nation in Asia.

Right next to the little hut housing Magellan's Cross is the Church of Saint Augustin, better known as the Basilica del Santo Niño. This is no less than the soul of Cebu. One can't even begin to discuss Cebu without first considering the Santo Niño, Cebu's holiest of holies, so important to the psyche of not just this island, but the entire country. This actual Santo Niño is found inside the Basilica del Santo Niño, also known as Saint Augustin Church. You can get quite close and take a good look, as long as a mass is not ongoing.

Basilica Minore del Santo Nino is where the miraculous Santo Nino image is enshrined. The Santo Nino de Cebu is the oldest religious relic in the Philippines. Given By Magellan to Queen Juana in 1521, the statue survived fires set by the Spaniards themselves in 1565. Since then Cebuanos have venerated the image. The Basilica Minore Del Santo Nino is the country's oldest church, built in 1565 by Miguel Lopez de Legazpi and Fray de Urdaneta. Destroyed by fire on November 1, 1568, it was rebuilt in 1602 and rehabilitated in 1740. The church was conferred the title Basilica Minore del Santo Nino in May 1965.

Chapel of the Last Supper in the Mandaue Parish (ca. 1601) has lifesize wooden statues of Christ with the 12 apostles seated at a long table It was handcarved during the Spanish era.

Taoist Temple in Beverly Hills is where the teachings and philosophy of 600 B.C. Chinese thinker Lao-tze are preserved. Visitors can climb 99 steps to the temple where they can light joss sticks and have their fortunes read. Taoist ceremonies are held on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Heavenly Temple of Charity, located at Peace Valley in Lahug, stands on a sacred hill where spring waters are believed to have healing powers.

  2. There are a lot of good places worth visiting here in Cebu. It depends on what's your trip.

For "night life". You can drop by Crossroads. There's Vudu. If you want a music lounge, you can go to Asiatown IT park, there's Loft, they play techno music. If you are into disco, you can go to NASA or Sunflower. If you want to hear live band, you can go to OUTPOST, that is goin to Marco Polo hotel. There's also Ratsky, thats in Ayala Mall.

Those are just few of the places where you can hang out with.

By the way, you can also check out beautiful beaches here in Cebu. Like Shangrila or Plantation Bay.

  5. Philippines has so many places to see and experience. And Cebu is definitely one of them.

It would be great if you take the time to visit the northern part of Cebu- Malapascua and Bantayan Island. And do some island hopping with Mactan Island as your jumpoff point.
