The distance and two 2. security issues. The first issue i would look at doing a "shopping visit" to Hong Kong on route for a couple of days before arriving in the Philippines. Also the Philippines is pretty central to Asia so visiting other countries on the second week would be easily possible and booking locally with one of the Philippine airlines will be a lot cheaper. Security issue i would look at the resorts and possible stay in Cebu as it seems to have a history over stability unlike Luzon and Mindanao in the south.<br><b>References : </b><br> The biggest problem i hear generally from people is 1.
